Could be that it is still Christmas as you celebrate all 12 days of the season, or could be that you simply love a traditional carol or know someone who does… My new single “Silent Night” is still available as a free download or can also be streamed as often as you like. Here’s the link: http://phoenixj.bandcamp.com/track/silent-night. Enjoy!
Time has flown and soon it will be New Year’s Day. I hope this year has been as meaningful and eventful a one for you as it has been for me, and that you are looking forward to the new one with renewed hope and anticipation.
As a bit of ringing-out, ringing-in nostalgia, I’d like to share with you below lyrics of a song I wrote some time ago and was included in the greenhaus album of the same title, “A Fool’s Paradise”.
May we all have a wonderful year in 2013!
Warmest wishes,
Phoenix J x
ps. I’m broadcasting one final concert this year on Sunday 30th Dec, 2pm PDT / 10pm GMT. Details are on https://www.phoenixj.com/webcast. I hope you can make it!
A Fool’s Paradise (Labour of Love)
Words and Music by Phoenix J
greenhaus version on iTunes
Live piano version on MySpace
I’m living a fool’s paradise
But the scales would fall from my eyes
I’ve a thorn deep down on my side
And now I need a shoulder to cry
If I would only make it
I’d be a labour of love
And if you would help me make it
I’d be a labour of love
I’m an open book, just take a look
And you’ll see
I’ve turned the lights on but nobody’s home
My friends surround me still I’m all alone
Well there’s a story where the seeds were sown
That what I need is a life of my own
If I would only make it
I’d be a labour of love
And if you would help me make it
I’d be a labour of love
I’m an open book, just take a look
And you’ll see
Maybe one day I’ll take to the skies
And somehow I’d see paradise
There’d be a thorn deep down on my side
But you would be my shoulder to cry
If I would only make it
I’d be a labour of love
And if you would help me make it
I’d be a labour of love
