Junkk (Music for the Soul)

I’ve been experimenting with my new’ish Boss RC30 loop pedal and I’m loving it every minute of it! Especially as I get the hang of multi-tasking while doing a live concert, and re-arranging either a known cover or a song from my various original projects. Below is a song I’ve started playing live again, giving it a new bluesy/jazzy twist. To listen to the new arrangement, catch one of my live radio or video internet concerts. Check my dates.

The song was originally written for a girl band we were putting together way back in 2000. They were going to be called Junkk. Junkk is also the name for a new environmental awareness idea that was also taking fruit then. What is Junkk? Hopefully you can guess by the contents of the lyrics below, as well as the website that features this track, http://www.junkk.com. Note it comes with that “extra special K”. 😉

Enjoy perusing both, and hope to see you on the internet soon! I shall also endeavor to upload new videos playing with the Boss. Subscribe to my youtube channel to keep informed. PJx

Junkk (Music for the Soul)

(from “Junkk, Music for the Soul” album released 2002)
Written by Martin/Martin/Barry

Check a brother by his eyes ok
Tell him what you want cos you know you’re ready
It don’t matter what he do or say
Kick him to the curb if the boy ain’t steady
All the ladies in the world today
Gotta stand tall Mama made us ready
People always wanna make us sway
Come on this way we go, ready steady

Ready steady

Junkk is the future
Didn’t mama ever tell ya
Make your own solution
Let no one ever move ya
Junkk

Check a sister if she’s ok
Lend a helping hand so she could be ready
Little baby hasn’t seen its day
Situation making life unsteady
All the ladies in the world today
Gotta stand tall Father made us ready
People always wanna make us sway
Come on this way we go, ready steady
